Fort Wayne, IN (August 16, 2026) – A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a school bus Friday morning, August 14, on Coliseum Boulevard in Fort Wayne. The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. just north of Vance Avenue.
Police said the Fort Wayne Community Schools bus was traveling southbound on Coliseum Boulevard when it struck the adult woman. Emergency units took her to an area hospital, where she was reported to have life-threatening injuries. The bus driver and the only student aboard were not hurt. Specialized crash investigators and police support units were called to the scene because of the severity of the woman’s injuries.
The far-right southbound lane of Coliseum Boulevard was closed near Vance Avenue while crews cleared the scene. That closure has since ended.
