How Do Commercial Vehicle Crashes Impact Highway Safety?
Crashes involving large commercial vehicles can have a significant impact on roadway safety due to their size and weight.
When collisions involve semi-trucks or other heavy vehicles, the impact force is often greater, leading to more severe injuries and extensive roadway damage. These incidents also tend to cause prolonged road closures as crews work to clear debris and investigate.
Drivers are encouraged to maintain safe following distances and remain cautious when traveling near commercial vehicles, especially during nighttime or early morning hours when visibility may be reduced.
