Cheyenne, WY (March 28, 2026) – Two people inside a building were injured after a vehicle crashed into a business on Friday morning in Cheyenne.
The incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. at North Platte Physical Therapy, located at 7226 Commons Drive. According to police, officers arrived to find that a passenger vehicle had struck the front entrance of the building. Preliminary findings indicate the driver accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to accelerate forward and crash into the structure.
Two individuals inside the building sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were not injured. The scene was cleared later in the morning, and traffic in the area has since resumed as normal.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as they become available.
We wish those injured a full and speedy recovery.
What Causes Vehicles to Crash into Buildings?
Crashes involving vehicles striking buildings are often caused by driver error, particularly misapplication of the pedals.
Mistaking the accelerator for the brake can lead to sudden, unintended acceleration, especially in parking lots or near storefronts. These incidents can happen quickly and may leave little time to react.
While injuries are often minor, such crashes can still pose serious risks to pedestrians and occupants inside buildings, highlighting the importance of cautious driving in parking areas.
