How Lane Changes Can Lead to Motorcycle Crashes
Motorcycles are smaller and can be harder to see than other vehicles, especially during lane changes. Drivers who fail to check blind spots may not notice a nearby rider before moving over.
Speed differences between vehicles can also increase the risk of a collision. A fast-moving motorcycle may approach more quickly than expected, reducing the time available to react.
When a motorcycle is struck, the rider can be thrown from the bike due to the lack of protection. This often leads to more serious injuries compared to occupants inside larger vehicles.
