Understanding Multi-Vehicle Crashes Involving Alcohol and Traffic Violations
Crashes involving multiple vehicles often occur when drivers fail to adjust to road conditions or violate traffic rules. Alcohol impairment reduces reaction time, judgment, and the ability to control a vehicle, increasing the risk of collisions.
Turning violations, such as failing to yield when making a left turn, can place vehicles directly in the path of oncoming traffic, often triggering chain-reaction accidents. Vehicle damage and airbag deployment can indicate the force of impact and help responders assess injury risks.
