What Happens When Drivers Fail to Yield at Intersections?
Intersections such as Chicago Road and West Sandwich Road can create risk due to turning movements. When injury crashes occur in DeKalb County, crews often work to stabilize traffic flow and assist those involved.
Failure to yield is a common factor in intersection crashes. Drivers may misjudge the speed of oncoming traffic or proceed before it is safe, increasing the chance of a collision.
Stop signs and right-of-way rules are designed to manage traffic safely. When these are not followed, even a brief miscalculation can lead to a crash, especially on roads where vehicles approach from different directions.
