How Ambulance Crashes Can Happen in Winter Conditions
Emergency vehicles are at risk on icy or snowy roads, even when responding to calls. Slippery surfaces can cause a sudden loss of control, especially at higher speeds or during maneuvers to avoid obstacles.
Rollovers can occur when vehicles slide off the road or hit uneven terrain, posing danger to both occupants and equipment inside the vehicle. Safety measures like reduced speeds, tire chains, and cautious driving are critical, but winter conditions can still make accidents possible. Emergency responders focus on stabilizing patients and safely securing the scene.
