Hillsboro, OR (April 16, 2026) –  A two-vehicle crash took place at NE Evergreen Pkwy & NE Century Blvd. The accident occurred on Thursday, April 16, at approximately 7:30 a.m.

One driver fell asleep at the wheel and drifted out of their lane, striking a speed radar device. The impact caused the vehicle to spin into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a second vehicle.

One driver was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution and was expected to be okay. No major injuries were reported. Both vehicles and a damaged trailer were towed from the scene. The incident remains under review, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.

We are thinking of those involved as they receive care.

How Drowsy Driving Leads to Crashes on Oregon Roads

Drowsy driving is a well-documented cause of crashes across Oregon, particularly in the early morning hours when the body’s natural sleep cycle makes fatigue harder to fight. A driver who falls asleep even briefly can drift across lane lines or strike roadside objects before they have any chance to correct course. Unlike alcohol impairment, fatigue often goes unrecognized by the driver until it is too late.

Morning commute hours see a notable share of fatigue-related incidents, especially on busy arterial roads like those in the Hillsboro area. When a fatigued driver loses control and enters oncoming traffic, secondary collisions become a real risk for other drivers who have no warning. Getting adequate rest before driving and pulling over when feeling drowsy are the most effective ways to avoid these situations.

1Seek treatment promptly after being injured in an accident. Your first priority should always be your health. Many providers offer treatment on a lien basis, meaning you can get the care you need now and pay later when your claim is resolved.
2Before speaking with an insurance company, make sure you have the facts. An official police report is the most reliable record of what happened and can help establish liability An experienced attorney can assist you in obtaining this report and using it to protect your interests.
3Consider having your case reviewed by a qualified attorney who can guide you through the next steps. They will safeguard your rights and pursue the compensation you deserve.

Focus on your recovery and
let trusted professionals handle the rest
