What Conditions Can Affect Pedestrian Safety on Multi-Lane Roads?
Arterial roads near Pio Nono Avenue and Ell Street often carry steady traffic and include multiple lanes. In Macon, these roadways can present challenges for both drivers and pedestrians, especially at night.
Lighting conditions and visibility can affect how quickly a driver notices someone on the road. Dark surroundings may influence how easily a person can be seen.
Traffic movement between lanes can also create complex situations. When vehicles adjust position to avoid other traffic, it can reduce the time available to react to unexpected conditions on the roadway.
