What Happens When Multiple Vehicles Are Involved in a Crash
Crashes involving several vehicles can be more complex than single-vehicle incidents. When more than one car is involved, the sequence of impacts can make it harder to determine how the crash began.
Emergency crews often need additional time to assess the situation, especially if someone is trapped and needs to be removed from a vehicle. This process can involve stabilizing the vehicle and safely assisting the person out.
Road closures are common during these events to allow space for response efforts and cleanup. Traffic may be delayed until all vehicles are removed and the roadway is cleared for safe travel again.
