How Failure-to-Yield Crashes Lead to Serious Intersection Accidents
Failure-to-yield crashes are common at rural and suburban intersections where traffic may move at higher speeds. Drivers approaching stop signs are expected to wait until the roadway is clear before entering or crossing traffic lanes. When a vehicle pulls into the path of another car, side-impact collisions can occur with little time for either driver to react.
Rollover accidents happen especially when larger vehicles like SUVs or pickup trucks are involved. The force of the crash can cause a vehicle to tip or rotate, increasing the chance of injuries for those inside. Investigators often review vehicle positions, traffic signs, and witness statements to better understand how the collision occurred and whether roadway conditions played a part.
