Why Motorcycle Accidents at Busy Intersections Lead to Injuries
Motorcycle crashes at major intersections often result in injuries because riders have less protection than occupants inside passenger vehicles. Even low-speed collisions can throw a rider from the motorcycle, leading to broken bones, head injuries, or road rash. Heavy traffic and turning vehicles may also increase the chance of a crash in congested areas.
Roadways near shopping centers and highway access points can become especially crowded during morning travel periods. Drivers may have limited reaction time when traffic patterns suddenly change or when motorcycles move between larger vehicles. Visibility issues, lane changes, and failure to yield are commonly reviewed after these incidents.
Damage to the motorcycle, roadway marks, and traffic flow patterns may later help explain how the collision occurred and what factors contributed to the crash.
