Clark County, NV (May 2, 2026) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles on Interstate 15 in Clark County.
According to Nevada State Police, the incident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-15 when a black 2008 Ford F-350 pickup struck the pedestrian. Investigators say the individual had reportedly been fleeing an earlier collision prior to entering the roadway.
Authorities stated that shortly after the initial impact, a second vehicle, a silver 2019 Toyota Camry, also struck the pedestrian.
Emergency responders arrived on scene, but the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford pulled over to the right shoulder and remained at the scene. Both drivers involved cooperated fully with investigators and provided statements regarding the incident. The crash led to disruptions along the northbound lanes as authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the scene. Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
We extend our condolences to those affected by this tragedy.
How Do Highway Pedestrian Incidents Become So Dangerous?
Pedestrian incidents on highways are especially dangerous due to high vehicle speeds and limited reaction time for drivers. Unlike city streets, highways are not designed for foot traffic, making it difficult for motorists to anticipate someone on the roadway.
When a pedestrian enters active traffic lanes—especially unexpectedly—drivers may not have enough time or distance to stop or avoid a collision. In some cases, multiple vehicles can become involved, further increasing the severity of the situation.
Situations where individuals are fleeing or disoriented can add additional risk, as decisions may be made quickly without regard to traffic conditions. Staying off active roadways and seeking help in safer areas can help prevent these tragic outcomes.
