Douglas County, NV (August 3, 2026) – The Nevada State Police are investigating a Saturday afternoon crash at the intersection of US-50 and SR-28 near the Spooner Lake Recreation Area that left eight people injured.
Emergency units responded to the scene around 1:22 p.m. on August 1, after reports of a serious collision involving an SUV and a pickup truck. One person suffered serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to a local hospital. Seven other people were taken by ground ambulance to area hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Traffic was reduced to one lane in both directions while crews worked at the scene, and delays were expected for several hours. The identities of those involved have not been released. Our thoughts are with everyone injured, and we hope they recover quickly.
