Placerville, CA (September 6, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision was reported at Cedar Ravine Road and Pleasant Valley Road at about 2:18 p.m. on Friday, September 4.
The California Highway Patrol log identified a white Ford pickup and a white Dodge. One vehicle appeared unable to be driven, and the vehicles were blocking the entire intersection.
Emergency units were requested after one patient was reported with a heart problem and minor injuries. A tow truck was also called to help clear the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
We hope the injured person makes a full recovery.
Blocked Intersections Can Quickly Disrupt Local Traffic
When disabled vehicles stop within an intersection, several travel paths can be affected at once. Through traffic and turning drivers may have little room to pass, especially where surrounding roads offer limited space for detours.
A vehicle that cannot be driven may remain in place until towing equipment arrives. During that time, emergency activity and patient care can require additional room around the vehicles, further restricting movement through the crossing.
Traffic delays can continue even after one lane becomes available because vehicles may have backed up in several directions. The final position of each vehicle, debris, roadway width, and towing access can all influence how quickly normal travel resumes.
