Albuquerque, NM (January 18, 2026) – A Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputy and a civilian were injured late on Saturday night following a traffic crash near the intersection of Central Ave NW and 98th St NW in Albuquerque. Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 11:37 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision classified as a 29 Bravo 1 incident.
First responders arrived to find both the deputy and the civilian in need of medical attention. Paramedics treated the injured parties on-site and arranged further transport for additional evaluation. The exact nature and severity of their injuries have not been released.
Officials temporarily restricted traffic in the area to ensure safety during response efforts and the preliminary investigation. Authorities are still working to determine the events that led to the crash.
