Allen Co, OH (January 21, 2026) – Several individuals sustained injuries on Tuesday morning following a serious multi-vehicle collision on State Route 309 near the Allen and Hardin County line, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lima Post.
The accident involved multiple vehicles, including a private ambulance from Bellefontaine. Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, and due to the severity of the crash, one person was airlifted to a nearby trauma center by medical helicopter. Several others were transported by ground ambulance to local hospitals for treatment of various injuries.
Authorities have not released the total number of people injured or details on the conditions of those hospitalized. The presence of a private medical transport vehicle has raised additional concern, and officials are working to determine whether any patients were onboard at the time of the collision.
Troopers from the Lima Post remain actively involved in the investigation and are working to establish the cause of the crash. Roadway conditions and vehicle speeds at the time are being reviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.
