Frequently Asked Questions
Does wearing a seat belt matter in a rollover? Yes. A seat belt keeps an occupant positioned inside the vehicle during a roll, cutting the chance of being thrown against the roof or ejected, which is one of the biggest factors in rollover survival.
What is a "tripped" rollover? It happens when a vehicle's tires catch on a curb, soft shoulder, or guardrail and the sudden resistance flips the vehicle, as opposed to a rollover caused by sharp steering or high speed alone.
Do rollovers happen more on certain types of roads? They're more common on freeways and highways where speeds are higher and a sudden lane change, loss of control, or contact with another vehicle can send a car off its path and onto its side or roof.
What to Do After a Rollover Crash in Anaheim Hills, CA
If you're involved in a rollover, stay as still as possible until you can check for pain or injury before moving, since adrenaline can mask early symptoms. Turn on hazard lights if the vehicle is drivable and move only if staying in place puts you in further danger from traffic. Call 911 so medics can evaluate everyone involved, even if injuries aren't obvious right away. Once safe, get a medical check within a day or two, exchange information with other drivers if possible, and file a report with local authorities so there's an official record of what happened.
