What Factors Are Often Reviewed After Multi-Vehicle Crashes on Highways?
After a crash involving multiple vehicles, several elements are usually examined to determine how the incident occurred. Traffic flow at the time can affect how quickly drivers react, especially on busy highways where speeds are higher.
Vehicle spacing is another key factor. When cars follow too closely, it becomes harder to stop in time if traffic suddenly slows. This can lead to chain-reaction collisions involving several vehicles.
Road conditions may also be considered. Wet or uneven surfaces can reduce traction and increase stopping distance. Visibility, including weather and lighting, may further affect how drivers respond in fast-moving traffic situations.
