Why Speeding Increases Crash Risks
Speeding is a significant factor in many serious traffic collisions, particularly on busy urban roadways such as South Cooper Street.
When vehicles travel at excessive speeds, drivers have less time to react to changing traffic conditions, including vehicles turning at intersections or entering the roadway. This can increase the likelihood and severity of a crash.
Authorities often investigate whether street racing played a role when collisions involve high speeds or multiple vehicles traveling aggressively. In these cases, crash investigators analyze roadway evidence, witness statements, and vehicle data to better understand the sequence of events leading up to the collision.
