What Can Lead to Erratic Driving and Serious Urban Crashes?
Erratic driving can increase the risk of serious crashes, especially in busy city areas. Sudden lane changes, inconsistent speeds, or failure to follow traffic signals can lead to collisions with other vehicles.
Intersections are particularly vulnerable because they require coordination between multiple directions of traffic. When one driver behaves unpredictably, it can reduce the time others have to react.
Factors such as fatigue, distraction, or possible impairment may affect how a driver responds to traffic conditions. When combined with urban traffic patterns, these behaviors can result in high-impact crashes involving multiple people.
