How Scooter Crashes at Intersections Can Occur
Scooter crashes often happen at intersections where vehicles and riders share space. Even when riders use crosswalks, visibility and timing can affect whether drivers notice them in time.
Low-light conditions, such as around midnight, can make it harder to see smaller vehicles like scooters. Speed, turning movements, and limited reaction time may also increase the risk of a collision.
Riders can improve visibility by using lights and reflective gear, while drivers can reduce risk by slowing down and checking crosswalks carefully before proceeding through intersections.
