What Is Typically Reviewed After Highway Pedestrian Fatalities?
When a person is struck on a highway, several factors are often examined to understand how the incident occurred. This may include the person’s location on the roadway and whether traffic conditions made visibility difficult.
The sequence of events leading up to the crash is also reviewed. In cases where a prior accident occurred, attention may be given to where vehicles were stopped and how individuals moved around the roadway afterward.
Lighting conditions and vehicle speed can also provide useful context. These elements may help explain how quickly a situation developed and how much time drivers had to react.
