Hazards of Overnight Semi-Truck Crashes on Interstate Highways
Crashes involving large commercial trucks can have a major impact on interstate travel, especially overnight. Reduced visibility and fatigue may increase risks for drivers traveling long distances.
When a semi rolls over, it can block multiple lanes and create dangerous conditions for approaching traffic. Heavy cargo and the size of commercial vehicles often require specialized equipment to remove them safely from the roadway.
Early morning crashes on highways like I-94 can also affect freight schedules and regional travel. Long stopping distances and limited maneuverability make it harder for semi-trucks to avoid sudden hazards. Maintaining safe speeds, proper following distance, and alert driving are key factors in reducing the likelihood of serious interstate collisions.
