Boston, MA (January 22, 2026) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision with injuries on Wednesday afternoon along Route 1 northbound, near the South Boston area.
The crash, which occurred shortly after 2 p.m., initially raised concerns of a rollover. However, on-scene crews later confirmed that no rollover had taken place. Boston Fire Department units, including Engine 4 and Ladder teams, responded quickly and assessed two individuals who were injured in the crash.
Given the extent of the situation, an additional ambulance was requested to provide support. Medical personnel treated the injured parties on site while firefighters secured the vehicles and managed the traffic hazard along the busy highway.
Details surrounding the cause of the collision have not yet been confirmed. The roadway remained active with emergency crews for a period as responders addressed injuries and cleared the area.
