Bronson, FL (July 24, 2026) – A 30-year-old Bronson man lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Friday morning on State Road 24 near the Alachua-Levy County line.
The fatal wreck occurred at about 7 a.m. on SR-24, also known as Archer Road, and Thrasher Drive. According to investigators, the man was driving a pickup truck westbound when it struck the rear of another truck that was slowing to make a turn.
The pickup driver died as a result of the collision. The driver of the other truck was not injured.
The roadway was completely blocked for a period following the crash while emergency units worked in the area. Additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision have not been released.
Investigators continue to examine the factors that contributed to the crash.
