Brookhaven, GA (March 12, 2026) – A school bus crash on Thursday morning, March 12, sent a driver and several students to the hospital after a collision at a busy Brookhaven intersection.
Emergency units responded to the crash at the intersection of Century Boulevard Northeast and Clairmont Road, also known as State Route 155. Authorities said a car ran a red light and struck the DeKalb County school bus.
Officials reported that the bus driver and four students were taken to a hospital for further evaluation following the crash. The bus had been carrying 29 students in total. The remaining 25 students were taken to Montclair Elementary School, the bus’s original destination.
Investigators said the impact caused the bus to strike a second vehicle before it traveled up an embankment. The driver of the first car remained at the scene and received a citation, while the second driver was also taken to a hospital.
Clairmont Road was temporarily closed in both directions while crews cleared the wreckage. The roadway reopened around 9 a.m. after the response concluded.
The crash remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as authorities continue their review.
