Why Rollover Crashes Can Lead to Severe Injuries
Rollover crashes often occur when a driver loses control, and the vehicle leaves the roadway. Uneven surfaces or sudden steering can cause a vehicle to overturn.
Occupants may be ejected if they are not wearing seatbelts, which can increase the risk of serious injury. Even inside the vehicle, movement during a rollover can cause injury.
Vehicle speed, road conditions, and driver response all influence how these crashes unfold. Once a vehicle begins to roll, it can be difficult to regain control.
