Police Pursuits Can Increase the Risk of High-Speed Collisions
Police pursuits can create dangerous conditions on highways when drivers attempt to evade law enforcement at high speeds.
On major corridors such as Interstate 64, sudden lane changes, excessive speeds, and loss of vehicle control can quickly lead to serious collisions involving other motorists.
When crashes occur near exits like Milton Exit 28, traffic patterns may change as vehicles merge or slow down, which can further increase the risk of secondary impacts.
Investigators reviewing incidents in areas such as Cabell County, West Virginia, typically analyze pursuit details, vehicle speeds, and roadway evidence to determine how the collision occurred.
