West Valley City, UT (March 12, 2026) – A family in West Valley City was forced to evacuate their home on Thursday morning after a vehicle crashed into the structure and caused a gas leak, according to authorities.
Officials with the West Valley City Police Department said the crash occurred shortly before 8:00 a.m. in the 4100 block of South Rushford Court in West Valley City, Utah.
Investigators reported that a 39-year-old driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed into the corner of a residence. Photos from the scene showed the vehicle partially lodged into the home following the impact.
Emergency responders arrived to secure the area after the collision caused a gas leak at the property. Authorities said the family living inside the home was evacuated as a precaution while crews worked to contain the leak.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Officials have not released details regarding the individual’s condition.
