Woodbridge, VA (March 12, 2026) – Several people were injured on Thursday afternoon following a multi-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in Woodbridge, according to authorities.
Emergency crews from the Prince William County Police Department and Prince William County Fire and Rescue responded to the crash at the intersection of Opitz Boulevard and Smoketown Road during the late afternoon or early evening hours. Authorities reported that multiple vehicles were involved in what appeared to be a high-impact collision. The crash scattered significant debris across the roadway and caused major disruptions to traffic in the area.
First responders arriving at the scene found heavily damaged vehicles and used specialized rescue equipment to extricate at least one person who had become trapped inside a vehicle. Officials said several individuals were evaluated at the scene by emergency medical personnel. At least two people were transported to a nearby trauma center with serious injuries. The police have not released the identities of those involved as officials continue their investigation and notify family members.
