The two vehicles made contact in the intersection under wet road conditions.

The cause of the collision continues to be examined as additional details are gathered. We wish the injured woman a smooth and complete recovery.
How Wet Roads Can Affect Intersection Safety
Wet pavement can reduce tire traction and increase the distance needed for a vehicle to stop. At intersections, this can make it more difficult for drivers to slow down or avoid other vehicles, particularly when traffic is moving from different directions simultaneously.
Rain can also reduce visibility by limiting how clearly drivers see traffic signals, signs, and approaching vehicles. Even when speeds are within the posted limit, slick pavement may change how a vehicle handles during braking or turning. Because of these factors, drivers are generally encouraged to allow extra following distance and approach intersections more cautiously whenever roads are wet.
