Cass, MO (January 19, 2026) – Two men sustained serious injuries, and another suffered wounds after a weekend collision involving a pickup and a sedan on MO 2 at S Kauffman Rd in Cass County.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening, January 17, at approximately 5:40 p.m. According to investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2019 RAM 1500 traveling northbound failed to yield and was struck on the right side by a westbound 2016 Ford Fusion. The impact resulted in severe damage to both vehicles.
Responders from Garden City Fire and Central Cass EMS provided emergency assistance at the scene. The 27-year-old male driver of the Ford Fusion, a Holden resident, was seriously injured and transported to Research Medical Center by Garden City Fire personnel. A 30-year-old man from Harrisonville, who was a passenger in the RAM, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the same hospital by Central Cass EMS. The driver of the RAM, a 31-year-old man from Archie, was treated for minor injuries and declined further care at the scene.
Neither driver nor the injured passenger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, according to officials. Both vehicles were totaled and removed by local towing services.
Multiple patrol officers, including CPL W J Luzenko and several assisting troopers, handled the on-scene investigation. Authorities confirmed that the collision remains under review to determine all contributing factors.
