Understanding Two-Vehicle Collisions and Centerline Crossings
Collisions involving vehicles crossing the centerline often result from loss of control, distraction, or misjudging oncoming traffic. These types of crashes can cause serious injuries because vehicles typically hit head-on or at high speeds.
Roadway layout, visibility, and weather conditions can also affect how a crash unfolds. Passengers in either vehicle face heightened risk, making the role of seat belts and airbags critical in reducing harm.
Understanding common patterns in these accidents helps highlight the dangers of crossing into opposing lanes and the potential severity of injuries when crashes occur.
