What Happens When Drivers Run Red Lights at Intersections?
Running a red light can lead to serious crashes, especially at intersections where vehicles cross paths. Drivers traveling with a green light may not expect another vehicle to enter the intersection against the signal.
These collisions often result in side impacts, which can cause significant damage and increase the risk of injury. The angle of impact can affect how vehicles move after the crash.
Traffic signals are designed to reduce conflicts between vehicles, but they rely on driver compliance. Attention and timing play a key role in preventing these types of accidents.
