Why Rear-End Crashes Can Become Life-Threatening
Rear-end crashes are common, but they can turn deadly depending on speed and impact. When one vehicle fails to slow down in time, the force of the collision can push the front vehicle off the road or cause it to roll over.
Seatbelt use is a major factor in crash survival. Wearing a seatbelt helps keep occupants secured inside the vehicle, reducing the risk of being thrown around or ejected during a crash.
Road conditions, driver attention, and following distance also affect how these crashes happen. Maintaining space between vehicles and staying alert can help reduce the risk of serious outcomes in rear-end collisions.
