What Causes Single-Vehicle Rollover Crashes?
Rollover crashes can occur when a driver loses control and the vehicle tips onto its side or roof. Sharp turns, uneven road surfaces, or overcorrection may increase the risk of a rollover.
Vehicles with a higher center of gravity, such as sport utility vehicles or trucks, may be more prone to tipping during sudden maneuvers. Speed can also influence how easily a vehicle overturns.
When multiple passengers are inside, injuries may vary depending on seating position and seat belt use. Rollovers often result in significant vehicle damage, even if only one vehicle is involved.
