Chesterfield, VA (January 10, 2026) – A tragic collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Friday evening in North Chesterfield, according to local authorities.
The crash took place just before 7:00 p.m. on January 9 at the intersection of Hopkins Rd and Beulah Rd. Officials confirmed that a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta was attempting to make a left turn onto Beulah Rd from Hopkins Rd when it collided with a 2023 Honda motorcycle heading north on Hopkins.
The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not been released as officials await notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Volkswagen remained at the scene and was uninjured. Authorities reported that the individual is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
As a result of the collision, portions of the intersection were closed for several hours, causing significant delays. VDOT warned motorists to expect continued impacts as crews work to clear the area and police complete their review.
