Why Motorcycle Crashes Often Lead to Severe Outcomes
Motorcycle crashes tend to result in more serious injuries compared to other types of traffic incidents. Riders have less physical protection than those inside vehicles, increasing the risk of injury in an impact. Even with helmets and protective gear, the body is more exposed.
Intersections are common locations for these crashes. Drivers may fail to see motorcycles or misjudge their speed when turning or crossing traffic. Early-morning conditions, such as reduced visibility or driver fatigue, can also play a role.
Seasonal changes can lead to more motorcycles on the road, especially during warmer months. With increased traffic, the chances of collisions may rise, particularly in busy or high-speed areas.
