Chicago, IL (April 14, 2026) – A man was hurt on Sunday night, April 12, after a crash involving two vehicles sent one car into a bus stop in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. The incident happened around 10:38 p.m. near the intersection of West Belmont Avenue, North Ashland Avenue, and North Lincoln Avenue.
According to reports, a 19-year-old driver in a white sport utility vehicle was traveling south on Ashland Avenue and turned right onto Belmont Avenue. During the turn, the SUV sideswiped another vehicle heading west on Belmont Avenue.
Following the initial impact, the SUV veered off course and struck a bus shelter near the intersection. A man standing nearby at the stop was hit and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital in good condition, while both drivers declined medical treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
