Highway Safety and Multi-Vehicle Crash Awareness
Chain-reaction crashes on busy expressways can occur suddenly, especially during periods of slowed or stopped traffic. Drivers are encouraged to maintain safe following distances, reduce speed in congested areas, and remain fully attentive behind the wheel.
High-speed roadways leave little room for reaction time, making defensive driving especially important. Avoiding distractions, monitoring traffic flow ahead, and adjusting speed to roadway conditions can help reduce the risk of multi-vehicle collisions.
Emergency responders also remind motorists to move over and proceed cautiously when approaching crash scenes. Keeping roadways safe requires cooperation from all drivers, particularly in heavily traveled urban corridors.
