Joplin, MO (August 30, 2026) – A 7-year-old boy was hurt after an accident involving an all-terrain vehicle and another vehicle on Friday afternoon, August 28, on Coffee Dr, about two miles south of Joplin. The accident occurred at about 4:38 p.m. on August 28.
According to the initial report, an unknown vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a 2005 Yamaha F25 ATV. The ATV was traveling eastbound when it was hit.
The boy was driving the ATV and was wearing a safety device at the time. He suffered moderate injuries and was taken by a private party to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment.
The ATV sustained moderate damage and remained secured at the scene. The other vehicle was not identified in the initial report, and its driver information was unavailable. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
