Springfield, OH (June 25, 2026) – A child was seriously hurt on Tuesday afternoon, June 23, after being hit by a vehicle on Vale Road in Springfield Township. The crash happened around 2:41 p.m.
Investigators said 82-year-old John Snyder was driving a Chevrolet Silverado south on Vale Road. At the same time, the child was entering the roadway from the west.
The Silverado then hit the young pedestrian. The child was first taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Medical crews later flew the child to Dayton Children’s Hospital for further care. Snyder was not hurt. Authorities are reviewing the facts surrounding the collision on Vale Road.
