Omaha, NE (July 11, 2026) – A 10-year-old boy was killed, and three other people were injured after two vehicles collided at the intersection of 114th Street and West Center Road in southwest Omaha around 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.
According to preliminary information, a red Subaru Impreza station wagon was turning onto 114th Street when it was struck by a black Chevrolet Malibu. The impact tore the Subaru apart and sent four people, including two children, to hospitals. The 10-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy, both passengers in the back seat of the Subaru, were taken for treatment with CPR in progress.
The 10-year-old later died from injuries sustained in the crash. Both drivers were also hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The Chevrolet driver, identified as 28-year-old Tanner Hunt of Elkhorn, was booked on charges including DUI causing serious injury, refusing a DUI test, driving while revoked, and no proof of insurance.
