New Milford, NJ (August 30, 2026) – According to police reports, two 12-year-old children were struck by a Toyota on Reichelt Road in New Milford on Friday, August 28, at about 2 p.m.
One child was riding a scooter when the vehicle struck them. The child suffered a serious head injury and remained in critical condition, according to officials. The second child was walking and suffered a minor injury. Both children, who live in New Milford, were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where their parents were with them.
The 57-year-old New Milford man driving the Toyota stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Troopers continue to examine the events that led to the incident.
