Clarendon Co., SC (August 30, 2026) – Two people were killed on Friday afternoon, August 28, after a tractor-trailer crashed on Interstate 95 in Clarendon County. The collision happened at approximately 3:22 p.m. between mile markers 117 and 119.
According to Clarendon County Fire Rescue, the tractor-trailer was traveling southbound when it crossed the median, entered a wooded area along the northbound side of the interstate near mile marker 117, and struck a tree.
When firefighters arrived, the truck’s cab was fully involved in fire, and two occupants were trapped inside. Crews brought the fire under control about 15 minutes after reaching the scene.
The Clarendon County Coroner’s Office confirmed that both occupants died. Their identities had not yet been released. Authorities continue investigating the crash.
