Choctaw County, Miss., Sept. 17, 2026 — One person died Wednesday morning, September 16, in a crash involving two trucks on Highway 9 near Maddox Road in Choctaw County, according to state troopers.
State troopers said a box truck and a wood chip truck collided around 6 a.m. The box truck was reportedly hauling produce at the time.
Authorities identified the man killed as 64-year-old James Rushing of Weir. The driver of the other truck suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Choctaw Medical in Ackerman.
