FLAGSTAFF, Coconino County, Ariz., Sept. 17, 2026 — A man was found dead early Wednesday morning, September 16, on Highway 89 northeast of Flagstaff, according to authorities. He was reportedly struck by a fast-moving vehicle near the Campbell Avenue intersection, about four miles north of Townsend-Winona Road.
Authorities said the man was discovered around 1:30 a.m. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and the Arizona Department of Public Safety are investigating and believe he was hit by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
As of Wednesday morning, officials had not released the man’s identity.
