Churubusco, IN (January 25, 2026) – A tragic accident in Churubusco on Saturday night claimed the life of one driver and left another hospitalized following a head-on collision at the intersection of Main St and Liberty St.
According to a report from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred just after 10:00 p.m. on January 24. Randall Hoffman, a Churubusco resident, was driving north on Main St when his vehicle unexpectedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with another car driven by Amanda Lindzy, who also resides in Churubusco.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene by 10:02 p.m. and declared Hoffman deceased. Lindzy sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been released.
Authorities noted that road conditions at the time of the collision were impacted by snow and ice. However, the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, and police have not determined whether weather was the primary factor.
