What Makes Intersection Crashes Particularly Dangerous?
Intersections like Mill Creek Parkway and 19th Avenue Northwest often bring together traffic moving in different directions. In Clinton County, these areas can become high-risk points when vehicles enter simultaneously without sufficient clearance.
Crashes at intersections frequently involve side impacts, which can be more dangerous because vehicles offer less protection along the doors. When one vehicle crosses into the path of another, the force of impact can be severe even at moderate speeds.
Visibility, timing, and right-of-way decisions all influence how safely drivers move through intersections. Misjudging another vehicle’s speed or failing to yield can quickly lead to serious collisions, especially on roads with steady traffic flow.
